Brad Griffin, Kara Powell

Kara Powell, PhD, is Chief of Leadership Formation and Executive Director of the Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) at Fuller Theological Seminary (see fulleryouthinstitute.org). Named by Christianity Today as one of “50 Women to Watch”, Kara serves as a Youth and Family Strategist for Orange, and also speaks regularly at parenting and leadership conferences. Kara is the author of 3 Big Questions That Change Every Teenager, Growing With, Growing Young, Sticky Faith (and The Sticky Faith Guide for Your Family), Can I Ask That?, and a number of other books and curriculum.

Brad M. Griffin serves as Senior Director of the Fuller Youth Institute (fulleryouthinstitute.org) where he leads, researches, writes, speaks, and consults around the country and internationally. Brad is the coauthor of 3 Big Questions that Change Every Teenager (2021), Faith in an Anxious World (2020), Every Parent’s Guide to Navigating Our Digital World (2018), Growing Young (2016), Sticky Faith Service Guide and Student Journal (2016), Right Click: Parenting Your Teenager in a Digital Media World (2015), Can I Ask That? Volume 1 and 2 (Leader and Student Guides, 2014, 2015), the Sticky Faith Launch Kit (2013), Sticky Faith: Youth Worker Edition (2011) and Sticky Faith Teen Curriculum (2012) with Kara Powell, along with Deep Justice Journeys (2009), and has written content for numerous publications including Christianity Today, YouthWorker Journal, Outreach Magazine, and others, as well as chapters in Adoptive Youth Ministry (2016), Halos and Avatars (2010), Middle School Ministry (2009), and Deep Ministry in a Shallow World (2006).

A native Kentuckian, Brad lives in Pasadena, California with his wife Missy and their three children. After more than 25 years in youth ministry, he currently serves as the volunteer Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries at Mountainside Communion.
