Dr. Joy Skarka is passionate about helping women find freedom from sexual shame. She serves as the Director of Discipleship at Authentic Intimacy, where she leads online recovery groups for women struggling with unwanted sexual behavior and pornography. Joy also equips Christian leaders to guide women toward healing and wholeness in their sexual stories.

Her work has been featured in the book Sanctified Sexuality: Valuing Sex in an Oversexed World, as well as in numerous online articles, podcasts, and workshops. Her upcoming book, Her Freedom Journey: A Guide Out of Porn and Shame to Authentic Intimacy, releases in summer 2024 with Moody Publishers.

Joy earned her BA in relational communication from the University of South Florida, followed by a MA and Doctorate in Educational Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary, focusing her research on sexual shame and spiritual formation. She joined Authentic Intimacy in 2020 and currently lives in Florida with her husband, Zack.

Dr. Juli Slattery is a widely known clinical psychologist, author, speaker, and broadcast media professional. Her commitment to biblical principles, relatable style, and quick wit have made her a highly sought-after speaker to women’s groups.

Juli is the president and co-founder of Authentic Intimacy, a ministry dedicated to reclaiming God's design for sexuality. She is the host of the weekly podcast, "Java with Juli". She has authored or co-authored twelve books including Passion Pursuit, Rethinking Sexuality, and Twenty-Five Questions You're Afraid to Ask about Love, Sex, and Intimacy. Julie is a member of the board of trustees of Moody Bible Institute. She and her husband, Mike, have three grown sons and live in Akron, Ohio.
