Divorce & Remarriage

In this book, a serious scholar with extensive experience in ministry looks at the question of divorce and remarriage. He offers a redemptive theology that affirms the importance of marriage, the urgency of helping people survive their marital crises, and the redemptive mercies and grace of God for those who have divorced and remarried.

"Finally . . . with biblical fidelity, pastoral sensitivity, and gospel congruency we have a book which thinks well and loves well in the complex world of divorce and remarriage! I wholeheartedly recommend Rubel Shelly's book as the most faithful, courageous and practical book on the topic I have ever read." --Scotty Smith, founding pastor, Christ Community Church, Franklin, Tennessee

". . . textually and theologically responsible, but at the same time grace-filled and gentle. Here the confused will find sound guidance and the trapped can find hope. I have been waiting fifty years for a book like this." --Lynn Anderson, Hope Network Ministries, San Antonio, Texas

"No pat answers here. . . . integrates in-depth textual study with real life stories and a strong spirit of compassion. The result is a book that radiates the spirit of Christ and the amazing grace of the gospel." --Rhonda Lowry, Lipscomb University, Nashville, Tennessee

"Rich biblical exposition interspersed--surprisingly--with gripping true stories; together they form a book like no other on this topic. Genuinely helpful for church leaders. Genuinely hopeful for any disciple of Jesus grappling with the devastation of divorce." --C. Leonard Allen, author of The Cruciform Church
