Product Description

After traveling the globe and speaking to thousands of churches worldwide, Paul David Tripp has discovered a serious problem within pastoral culture.

He is not only concerned about the spiritual life of the pastor, but also with the very community of people that trains him, calls him, relates to him, and restores him if necessary.

Dangerous Calling reveals the truth that the culture surrounding our pastors is spiritually unhealthy—an environment that actively undermines the well-being and efficacy of our church leaders and thus the entire church body.

Here is a book that both diagnoses and offers cures for issues that impact every member and church leader, and gives solid strategies for fighting the all-important war that rages in our churches today.

About the Author

Paul David Tripp is a pastor, author, and international conference speaker. He is the president of Paul Tripp Ministries and works to connect the transforming power of Jesus Christ to everyday life. This vision has led Paul to write 14 books on Christian living and travel around the world preaching and teaching. Paul's driving passion is to help people understand how the gospel of Jesus Christ speaks with practical hope into all the things people face in this broken world.

Paul attended Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University) and majored in Bible and Christian Education. He went on to receive his Master of Divinity from the Reformed Episcopal Seminary (now Philadelphia Theological Seminary) and his D.Min in Biblical Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary.

Throughout his ministry life, Paul planted a church, founded a Christian school, wrote worship songs, and toured with a Christian band. He was a faculty member at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF), a lecturer in Biblical Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary, and a Visiting Professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. More recently, Paul served on the pastoral staff at Tenth Presbyterian Church as the Minister to Center City.

Paul launched Paul Tripp Ministries in June of 2006. With a pastor's heart for pastors, he is also Professor of Pastoral Life and Care at Redeemer Seminary and the Executive Director of the Center for Pastoral Life and Care, under the auspices of the Association of Biblical Counselors.

Paul lives in Philadelphia and is hopelessly in love with his wife, Luella. She is the owner of LGTripp Gallery and represents emerging artists focusing on abstract and non-objective work from the Philadelphia region. Paul and Luella have four grown children: Justin ('76), Ethan ('78), Nicole ('81), and Darnay ('85).
